The Role
We are currently recruiting for an Aircraft Fitter (Non-Certifying) to join our Engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of aircraft maintenance activities, ensuring aircraft are maintained to the highest standards of safety, quality, and airworthiness.
Working under the direction of the Chief Engineer and Supervisors, you will be involved in a wide range of engineering activities including modification embodiment, line operations, and base maintenance. You will play a key role in supporting the delivery of serviceable aircraft capable of meeting customer operational requirements while ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company procedures.
- Carry out aircraft maintenance, repairs, and modifications as directed by the Supervisor.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in accordance with CAA Part 145/MIL Part 145 requirements.
- Report defects, hazards, and safety concerns through the appropriate company reporting systems.
- Complete all required maintenance documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Issue approved materials using company maintenance management systems.
- Ensure all work is completed using approved tools, equipment, and maintenance procedures.
- Maintain high standards of safety, housekeeping, and tool control within engineering work areas.
- Verify that tooling, test equipment, and ground support equipment are serviceable and calibrated before use.
- Liaise with colleagues, customers, and other departments as required to support operational delivery.
- Highlight potential delays, tooling requirements, or operational issues to the relevant Supervisor or Team Leader.
- Attend technical, quality, safety, and regulatory training as required.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute ideas to improve engineering processes.
Experience & Qualifications
Essential
- Recognised Aircraft Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent engineering training.
- Good technical English, both written and verbal.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, maintenance equipment, and electrical test equipment.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow technical documentation and maintenance instructions.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Good communication and IT skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Eligible to meet current UK security clearance and ITAR requirements.
Desirable
- Previous experience within commercial or military aircraft maintenance environments.
- Experience working on pressurised and/or unpressurised aircraft.
- King Air B350ER experience.
- Experience manufacturing, installing, and testing aircraft wiring looms.
- Experience carrying out electrical modifications on aircraft.
- Human Factors training or certification.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
